Nursing home sold out of administration

A FORMER village nursing home has been sold to developers.

The Manor House Nursing Home, and the adjacent Tree Tops Bungalow in Coleby, near Lincoln, was sold by administrators Deloitte LLP through Banks Long and Co.

It is believed the new owners plan to convert the property back into a home, before selling it on.

Both buildings have been on the market since towards the end of last year, when the nursing home was closed and the residents moved to alternative homes.

The properties had been available for sale individually or as a pair.

Banks Long and Co partner James Butcher said that while the nursing home had been marketed as a business property, he was not surprised the building ultimately appealed to a residential developer.

He said: "It quickly became apparent that, with the move in the care home sector towards the corporate operators, which has meant that the smaller independent nursing and care homes have struggled to remain in the market, the likely purchaser of the Manor House and Tree Tops will be looking at conversion back into dwelling houses."
