Saturday, July 31, 2010, 07:30

A COPY of the Derby Telegraph is among objects chosen by pupils at a city school for a time capsule to be buried in the grounds of a new care home.

Youngsters at Homefields Primary School in Chellaston were asked to come up with ideas for objects that summed up the year 2010 for the capsule, which will be buried at Bluebell Park care home, in Rowallan Way.

Winners were Joel Muir, who suggested a leaflet about the opening of Chellaston Library, Niamh Maconachie, who wanted to include a Homefields School T-shirt, and Tom Nelson, who suggested class photos.

Phoebe Drew wanted a copy of the Telegraph, featuring a story about the opening of the care home included in the time capsule, and Serena Variah, suggested including a Derby County Football team picture and fixtures list.

The winners received vouchers to use at Springwood Leisure Centre, in Oakwood.

The creative pupils previously took part in a competition to name the 64-bed care home.
