Notts-based green energy company Alkane has revealed a 60% hike in annual profits.
The Edwinstowe company, which captures gas from old mines and burns it to generate electricity, said pre-tax profits rose from £841,000 in 2006 to £1.34m in 2007.
Its electricity sales were up 35% and its gas sales up 25%, the company said in its preliminary results statement.
Alkane also revealed new capacity for this year, with a gas well drilled at Mansfield, and a new generator at Warsop and two further projects in the pipeline.
