Uncertainty as DSG plans Currys.digital closures

Workers at a Lincoln electrical goods shop are facing uncertainty today after a retailing giant revealed it is to shut more than 70 stores.

Staff at Currys digital may be hit by sweeping changes announced by parent DSG International - also owner of PC World - which is to axe 77 stores.

Under-performing branches of Currys digital are to go as part of a three-year turnaround plan by bosses.

Today a DSG spokesman was unable to reveal whether the Lincoln store is in line for the axe.

"We have announced 77 outlets will be closing. But this is not happening just yet.

"They will close as their leases run out and the average lease is for 4.3 years. We are still keeping 100 shops open," he said.
