Train staff get new uniforms

Staff working on trains are to get new uniforms.East Midlands Trains employees will be receiving their outfits this month and next.

The company said it had been testing designs for comfort, practicality and style since April.

It has chosen a navy blue uniform with red piping.

Jake Kelly, the company's customer service director, said: "Since the start of our franchise, we have been working directly with our staff to come up with a uniform that looks professional and smart, but that is comfortable and practical, and also reflects our brand.

"We believe our uniform ticks all of these boxes and will help passengers easily identify our staff at stations and on trains."

The company is in the middle of a £10 million refurbishment programme of all 25 of its trains.

The introduction of the new uniforms will be complete by September 8.
