A Sunday market is to reopen next week under new ownership.
Donington Ventures Leisure will run the 500-stall market at Donington Park, which attracts thousands of visitors each week.
Chief executive officer Lee Gill said: "We have been concerned by feedback from customers and traders that the market had deteriorated and required more focus and investment "
He promised improved management, better traffic control and car parking, increased marketing and promotion.
Mr Gill said: "The market is probably as renowned as the motor racing at the park. The market had been run for 28 years by Sandra Waters, of Gramlo Limited.
Mr Gill said he was keen to ensure smooth transition for traders and shoppers and talks were being held with Gramlo management team, with a view to retaining their service.
Company spokesman Nick Harris said: "The improvements are part of plans to upgrade the entire site."
Mrs Waters said: "It is with regret that we have run our last market. We developed it into a successful event. I'd have like to have carried on, but it has not proved possible."
