More "affordable" homes are promised for Lincoln, after an award-winning company won £6.1 million in funding.
Westleigh Developments said money from the Housing Corporation's £8.4 billion National Affordable Housing Programme will be used by one of its divisions which is building properties for housing associations across the East Midlands.
Partnership Homes' head of partnership and investment, Gary Turner, said: "We have secured three times as much social housing grant investment as the major firms, which encourages us greatly.
"One scheme which will benefit is in Lincoln, where 72 affordable homes will be developed on brownfield land close to the city centre, in agreement with the city council."
Westleigh declined to say where the properties will be built.
"Once completed, they will be transferred to Derwent Living, which will let 51 at affordable rents and sell the other 21 on the basis of a shared ownership lease," he said.
He added that Westleigh's current grant cash would allow it to put up 184 affordable properties over the next three years - with 100 destined for Lincoln.
